‘Ice cream’ man livens children’s hockey program

first_imgAs the Minkey hockey program sets into its third week last Saturday, Laga Industries through their Gala ice cream brand walked in to support the program.The kids were super excited when the “ice cream” man turned up during the session last weekend.The number of children participating had increased over the weekend with close to 50 children now registered for the program. It will be held every Saturday morning from 9am-10am.Gala will ensure over 50 kids are kept energised during the program. They will also reward them after each Saturday’s session over the remaining 8-9 weeks of the program.The Port Moresby Hockey Association was delighted with the number of children participating and thanked Laga Industries for the great sustenance to the program of helping building and developing youngsters in hockey.last_img read more

AIRTRICITY FIRST DIVISION: HARPS AND SHELS LEVEL AT THE BREAK IN INCIDENT PACKED FIRST-HALF

first_imgSOCCER: Finn Harps and Shelbourne are all level at the break in an incident packed first-half at Tolka Park.League leaders Finn Harps are keen to get back to winning ways after consecutive defeats against Athlone Town and Wexford Youths respectively.They got off to the perfect start this evening when Damien McNulty, back from suspension, fired Harps ahead with a powerful header from a corner. Harps were then given another boost when Shelbourne striker Mark Sandford was given a straight red card.A long ball punting forward by the Shelbourne defence was gathered by Harps goalkeeper Ciaran Gallagher.Sandford challenged for the ball and bundled into Gallagher in what looked like an honest challenge.However, the referee deemed it a dangerous tackle and gave him a straight red card to the shock of the Tolka Park crowd.
