Body of young man recovered after getting into difficulty swimming with brother

first_img Jun 19th 2017, 7:28 PM By Cliodhna Russell THE BODY OF a man in his twenties has been recovered after he got into difficulty while swimming with his brother in Carrick-on-Suir in Tipperary this afternoon.The brother went for assistance and the Coast Guard and gardaí were alerted at around 4.45pm. It happened downstream from Ormond Castle.Rescue 117 was tasked and arrived on the scene just after 5pm.A spokesperson for the Coast Guard told TheJournal.ie that Rescue 117 advised of a possible sighting of a casualty below surface of water at 5.15pm.The man was recovered by a local diver and pronounced dead at the scene.
